Payment

After an initial chat, if you would like sketches we charge a £50 sketch deposit, that will be deducted from your final bill once you decide to go ahead.

When you have chosen a final design we ask for 50% of the total cost in advance, then the remainder of your bill will be paid prior to delivery.

Payment can be made securely over the phone by debit or credit card or by cheque.

 

Commissions

Having a piece of jewellery commissioned for yourself or a loved one is a very special experience, therefore we try to involve you in the process as much as we can.

We will work with you to create a bepoke piece that reflects the wearer's unique character and style and will work to your budget, whether large or small. Wedding & engagement commissions.

After you have given us a rough idea of what you want we will sketch some designs and from there we can develop the exact piece you would like. Commissions can be discussed over the phone, by email, by online commission form, or you can arrange an appointment to discuss the finer details here at our harbour front workshop. We are open and available on the phone from 10.15 to 17.30 everyday except Sunday.

After you have decided on a design, each piece is completely hand made to your specifications from start to finish by ourselves. It is then hallmarked by The Edinburgh or London Assay office to validate it's authenticity. Each piece also contains our makers stamp, which is a small and individual imprint that is unique to Mahailia Jewellery Design .

It could then be engraved with the text of your choosing- perhaps a wedding date. You can even come and choose between stones, as no one stone is the same and we understand that it is a personal choice.

Once you have chosen a final design we will usually take about 6-8 weeks to complete a bespoke piece of jewellery. Do let us know as soon as possible if you need something for a specific date and we will try to ensure that this is acheived.
