INSPIRATION…

Living by the shores of Loch Fyne, Tarbert in Argyll Scotland , Mahailia, along with husband Stuart, handcraft natural, precious materials into elegant, wearable pieces of bespoke Scottish jewellery. Inspiration is drawn from the beautiful creatures, plants and stunning views that surround the West Coast of Scotland.

Struck by the natural qualities of metals and gemstones we try to reflect and add to their beauty in our work. An emphasis on subtle simple and classic forms are employed to allow the materials used to become the focus of each unique piece.

ABOUT MAHAILIA...

Ever since Mahailia was tiny she has loved shiny things. Mahailia's Grandfather was a jeweller and watchmaker, and seeing his precise tools and detailed work inspired her. She would try to make jewellery out of anything she could get her hands on - more often than not from sweet wrappings and tin foil!

Mahailia has moved on from this but still keeps the imagination her playing brought her.

Mahailia worked for a top jewellery designer before doing a full time SGAS course to complete her technical skills. She also found an interest in the history and folk lore that goes along with gem stones, metals and symbols and tries to incorporate this into her work. She is proud now to be one of Scotland's jewellery designers.

THE HIGHEST STANDARDS...

All of our jewellery is hand crafted from start to finish by ourselves and a small dedicated team of experts. We also employ new techniques and production methods to ensure the best possible results in quality and finish.

We have registered Hallmark stamps at the Edinburgh & London Assay Offices where all our jewellery is validated and stamped, to show its authenticity before being sold. Each piece also contains our makers stamp, which is a small and individual imprint that is specific to Mahailia Jewellery Design .

Commissioned pieces are designed entirely to your requirements and budget.
Each piece is presented to its best in a black leatherette box and gift-wrapping is available free of charge.
We pride ourselves in using gem stones and materials of the highest quality.
Being conscious of the environment we try to use ethically sourced materials as often as we can and fully support Oxfams' 'No Dirty Gold Campaign'.
We also support Scottish and British trades people and do not use imported materials where possible.

We hope you will appreciate the skill and care that we put into each fine piece of jewellery!
